Memento
This book is a window into the experience of coming of age in the Napa Valley. In this book, I showcase some of the spaces in which my friends and I spent our formative years, the places we go when we need somewhere to make art or a place to explore. This book gives you a glimpse of what Napa means to me and many of its natives.
Ordinary Wednesday
Discontent towards the surroundings of our daily life is all too familiar in our modern age. The rise of social media and its faux romanticism of far-off places feeds a belief that a more beautiful and meaningful experience is somewhere other than where we are now. And the further the better.
Smog Collectors Workshop
The Smog Collectors Workshop book was the publication for a collaborative project of the same name done by Sacramento State University's photography department and artist Kim Abeles. We used stencils to create designs on ceramic plates and exposed them to the elements for a given amount of time, allowing us to see a visual representation of air pollution. Abeles' multi-decade project, Smog Collectors expands upon this theme further.
